Looking Backward to Move Forward, Part 2

Leadership Development and Team Building

I love my leadership development and team building workshops: Engaged Leaders and EPIC Teams! Mission-driven work truly starts with yourself and your team. Gaining insight and self awareness is key to effectively attaining your goals.

  • How do you show up at work?

  • Where can you grow?

  • What are your barriers?

The two programs I led connected individuals to themselves and to their teammates.

Engagement Matters

In 2022 I worked with 10 Engaged Leaders with a goal of increasing that to 32 in 2023!  Here’s a sample of what participants shared about their experiences working with me:

“I feel more confident in my leadership abilities and have more “go-to” skills that will help me and the team go in the right direction. I enjoyed Rachel’s enthusiasm and extensive resources and would definitely recommend her because she understands leadership and people and knows how to get people to talk honestly.”

— Catherine Wightman, Coordinator, Northern Great Plains Joint Venture

“After participating in the Engaged Leader Series, I feel like it opened up some space for playfulness in my work life. I would highly recommend Rachel for Leadership Development as she approached leadership by addressing the underlying emotional reasons that make leadership difficult and created a supportive space within the group.”

— Anna Semple, Missoula City County Health Department

The Engaged Leader Series is a 12-week program in which participants define their leadership style and values and learn how to lead with empathy and compassion. The series was a lot of fun with great insights and connections.

The EPIC Team Process

In 2021 I launched EPIC Teams, a series of workshops with the purpose of building a stronger, more engaged team. While people get hired to join a team, not all of us work together well. Just like all relationships, team relationships take effort, intention and kindness. I had a great time working with Climate Smart Missoula and our local public transportation provider Mountain Line. Both organizations invest in and sustain the three strong pillars of healthy connections, healthy lives, and healthy communities.

Thanks for joining me on this look back through 2022!

What’s one of your favorite accomplishments or learning points, big or small, from last year? Share it with me via email and I’ll try to compile everyone’s responses in a future post.

In any case, I hope you’re as inspired as I am to start taking credit for everything you’ve already accomplished and are accomplishing on your work and life journey to date. 🙌

Looking forward to looking backward—

Rachel
